Commitment Issues: Overcoming House Hunting Woes

October 08, 2015

No matter how easy HGTV makes house hunting seem, the home buying process isn’t easy. You most likely won’t find your dream home after only looking at three houses and the process can take several months. Many home buyers experience house hunting woes or the effects of falling in and out of love with a house, having tremendously high expectations, and taking too long to make critical decisions. I’m not saying that you should settle for a home just because you can afford it, but one surefire way to get over the woes of the home buying process is to be realistic. Be realistic with your wants, needs, standards, timelines, and most importantly your budget.

Think of buying a home as getting into a long-term serious relationship. The hunting stage is very much like dating; you see some homes with potential, some homes you wish you’d never seen, and some homes that are a bit out of your league. Eventually you will find the right one; although, it may not be perfect and it may need some work, it can still turn out to be a match made in real estate heaven. But in order to find “the one” you must be realistic and patient.

With 27 years of experience under my belt, I can help you overcome those house hunting woes. If you’re thinking about purchasing a home in Harris County Ga., contact us today and we’ll help you find your perfect match.
